My current thesis is AMZN earnings on Thursday will be total bear capitulation day with a 5% surge in QQQ. The 10% cut in their white-collar division will lead to a 20-30% reduction in wage cost. This is the first irrefutably clear demonstration of the economic value of AI, which the bears have denied for so long. Bear in mind we have not seen big tech layoffs on this scale since October 2022.
