So am I understanding correctly, senate is considering passing an amended stop gap bill, the basis of which was passed by the house already, and so if this amended bill passes senate house still needs to vote

Johnson still has to reconvene the House in order to pass the Senate bill. Has he indicated when that will happen?

To those who don't understand how the government works, the govt isn't going to reopen today. Any revisions to the bill, which the Dems are demanding, would have to go back to the house, who also needs to approve it. The house isn't in session so they can't vote.
