Look at the monthly moves it's been crazy. A little bit of optimism injected back into the market with earnings means a serious drop was expected. Still has legroom in longer-run though...nothings changed in terms of macro view.

During a business presentation of our initiatives, alot of it involved incorporating AI. So naturally our engineers started asking questions about the costs+efficacy+justification etc. One of the top business folks said we need to be always be advancing our tech which made me a bit discouraged about everything. But our head engineer answered something along the lines of if we dont add AI to products, our customers will look elsewhere that does. It sucks but i appreciate how honest that answer is. Just rambling about the AI bubble ig.

Any of you heard of "expected move" or "volatility crush"? Don't buy options just before earnings. Very risky. You "can" win but the stock has to move quite a bit generally. Placing a long trade a few weeks prior to earnings can work but the options have to be cheaper than expected. I wouldn't buy calls or puts on TSLA when earnings are only a few days away.

What, you mean the billion dollars worth of shares that pumped TSLA up like 25% a bit over a month ago? The only thing that tells us is that Elon is confident in his ability to influence hype around Tesla, and given Tesla's entire market cap exists as a result of his ability to generate hype it seems to be a reasonable conclusion. However I don't think it's a particularly strong endorsement of Tesla's current share price, only of Elon's self awareness about his own influence.

Staying afloat after weeks like this makes you a better more confident trader. It was a choppy volatile market and navigating positions required iron clad risk management, patience and discipline. If you lost a little bit this week, you did ok. If you broke even you did great, and if you made money, you are killing it. (Or got lucky, and still killing it.)
