Right now actually it cost miners to mine one btc. Average mining cost $102k and btc price only $90.5k. People say btc is a store of value/energy. I’d say based on that thought process so is the exhaust that comes out of my tailpipe from burning $5k in gasoline per year.

I’m going to go so far to say that burning $100k of energy to produce a bitcoin that is only valuable to BTC bros and value is based on how gullible the next buyer is should be illegal.

Chicago mercantile exchange. It's a futures exchange that closes on the weekends. So if btc goes up between then it will leave a gap and will generally fill itself later in the week
