Im in school for CNC Machining right now. CNC manufactures everything. That is NEVER coming back to the way it used to be. A handful of years ago China set out to capture 95% of the entire planet's CNC manufacturing... And they got it. The college I go to has about 26k students and there are 15 of us in my CNC class. 15 is over double the number of people they had start last year. China has colleges the size of mine and ALL they do is teach people CNC. 26k people or more at a time. 1 we don't and can't have the infrastructure to make all of this stuff and 2 there's almost no desire in the general populace to learn it. That works to my benefit though because employers are so desperate for new employees they will cater to you to get you in the door. It's my first semester of school and a few weeks ago I got hired on in an apprentice roll and they're going to pay me $20/hour and also spay for all of my schooling and books. If you want a solid career path this is it.
