\-1.43% over Nasdaq index today. Worst day in past 3 months. Naked shorted IBM as a hedge, resulting in $2,000 loss overnight. NFLX and COST dropped today instead. Didn't adjust my XSP puts, QQQ calls and QQQ puts yesterday, resulting in over-shorted position.

Tbh I’m gonna take profit and reduce my positions to cost basis or house money. This will be on almost anything in the green Monday. Shares, leaps, shorts whatever. I gotta reload and recalibrate. I lost my sauce this past week I can’t chase it rn

> people need to live their lives. Also the cost to build per sq ft is literally higher than cost per sq ft to buy at the moment and much of that is labor. So aside from land value (which accounts for 25-30% of a single family home's value), home prices are value exactly where they should be. the only thing that can give is land value, and even a 50% dip in land value equates to roughly 10-15% of the overall cost or relatively insignificant difference. People dreaming of a 2008 scenario need to keep dreaming because it isn't happening anytime soon. The spread between cost to build and cost to own is too close to neutral for the market to tank. It's not a drop in home prices that's needed. It's wage growth which hasn't tracked with everything else.

There are some places that still manufacture them illicitly, I think India in particular had a few labs being busted found to be making them. I imagine cost effectiveness compared to other drugs and low demand keeps them in niche markets though.

Yes, they’re (BLS) making an exception (or trying to) for September’s CPI, it’s being pushed to October 24 so the Social Security Administration (SSA) can compute the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). So maybe some data?

Okay I did the math. It would take about 18 $1-cans of Great Value Refried Beans to fill a cubic foot. My living room is about 2700 cubic feet, so that would cost about $48,600 to completely fill it with budget-quality beans. Totally feasible. Edit: forgot tax, so closer to $52,600

Ikea will hike prices to offset the cost associated with a fresh round of U.S. tariffs targeting furniture imports. “We have to adapt and pass on parts of the cost increase to the customers,” said Tolga Öncü of Ingka, a global operator of Ikea stores. Sales at Inter Ikea, which owns the brand, fell for the second consecutive year even as the retailer continued to lower prices to draw inflation-weary consumers. The news comes as Ikea launches a new format in small towns to propel growth.

Cheaper fertility treatments is not going to make the cost/benefit analysis of actually having kids any better right now. The cost of food alone is enough to drain excess income from a large chunk of households.
Why they won't want to cure cancer despite hundreds of billions being thrown at cancer research year...
Why they won't want to cure cancer despite hundreds of billions being thrown at cancer research yearly: Think of every lab technician, all the equipment they have, everything down to the smallest test tube or pipette or pair of latex gloves, all the people who oversee the ordering of those supplies, the administration that shuffles paperwork, the insurance companies, all the teams of people who have work because of cancer, to say nothing of the doctors, nurses, specialists, and all that. How many billions of dollars does that all cost considering every hospital or cancer centre around the world, and also remembering the charities, research places, etc. Hundreds of billions, per year, for decades. And the tens of millions of research hours over the years, the computers that can do trillions of operations per second that can't find a way, the decades spent trying to find a cure, and the best they can do is dose you with vomit inducing liquid and give you a bandanna for your hairless head. Imagine if a pill could cure you of cancer overnight. The most a person would need is to see a nurse at a walk in clinic. So which is it, we have a cure that's not being released because of the money, or there's no way to cure cancer because reasons. I'll go with option #1, thanks.

Fun fact, if you time travelled back to the time of Khufu or the city of Ur or the Aztec empire or Kievan Rus and wanted a meal and a few beers and a blow job it would cost you +/- 50% in grams of gold what it costs here and now. 5000 years of inflation proofing. Nothing else comes close.

No one gives a shit because no one can afford any part of the children having process and everyone is angry. I make a pretty good living and I can't imagine squeezing kids into my budget, how tf is IVF fixing anything for the average american family. How about reducing the cost of child care or increasing their pay so they can actually afford to have kids? Bullish on NVTS bcuz the second letter is v just like IVF and also bcuz it's the only thing on my watchlist that started going up once he started not being able to pronounce anything he was reading Bullish on everything bcuz nothing makes sense anyway

I just remember I cloned my portfolio back in 2024 on Yahoo Finance on a seperate account. Today, I just looked at that account to see if I would have been 'ahead'. I would have made substantial gains if I just walked away from trading in 2024 and let my shit sit still. Like a $100 cost basis for TSM :(

My best vakue stock pick is Terracom Coal. Low cost producer of metallurgical coal with a global portfolio of assets. In coal bull markets, it 20x-100x’s and pay massive dividends. The chart bottomed due to coal bottoming and you can’t get a better entry than this. Company has a really slow balance sheet.
