Just because the regime isn't democratically elected doesn't mean they can't lose power. Their economy is in shambles. Hyperinflation. Not a great long term outlook for them. Did I make a wise decision? Today. I saw SPY break below 645. DJT claimed that there might be a deal. That didn't seem to phase the markets. I predicted that SPY would go below 640 and bought 1 put contract (May 29 expiry). However, I got a 3% profit. I began thinking. There could be a ground invasion that will make the conflict worse. There could also be rumors of a deal that would make SPY rocket up. Also, there is the fact that an extension of strikes until April 6 is in place. So, predicting something huge on Saturday might be risky. This means I'll be left with expecting the market to constantly be in a fear led selloff next week (not sure how likely that is). I do know that the Iranians are usually called out to make peace and are then struck when they come out of hiding (they are aware of this which might be informing their decision to not talk to us). Based on the uncertainty on both sides. I decided to keep my 3% profit and wait for next week. I still think that this war is consequential in the short and long run and that SPY still has way down to go. However, I don't want to be caught in any potential weekend/Monday morning market manipulation. I'll keep my little profit. What do y'all think. Did I make a smart decision or should I have held?

It is impressively silly that 80-85% of Republicans think the Iran war is a good idea, according to BBC. I don't know how only 15% of half the voters have the sense to know a bad plan when they see one.
