can anyone post the nonpaywalled article, like how exactly did they fail to monetize their GPUs? was it cuz they undercut hard tyo get marketshare, since theyre the new kid on the hyperscaler block? was it cuz blackwell stacks were poorly optimized/defective/bad so they invested too soon into bad tech? was it cuz simply no one cared and customers didnt show up cuyz they didnt see the need for compute? like more than a stupid headline, **WHY** did they make a 100m loss?

That is true, and there is a case to be made for OpenAI being here for a long time. But this is not just running a little red. They've promised something like $300bn to Oracle, $10bn+ to AMD just now, more billions to NVDA to buy their GPUs. They are spending money like there's no tomorrow. They have raised $60bn total and are losing money daily on their operations. Maths ain't mathing.

What a lot of people don’t understand about NBIS is that they offer a FULL STACK - GPUs, networking, storage, software + APIs, etc. The vision of NBIS is to be the AWS of AI and are growing/expanding at an unbelievable pace. This team is brilliant with tons of expertise. The Microsoft contract is just the beginning. CoreWeave offers a full stack as well, but they’ve taken on tons of debt while expanding. IREN does not offer a full stack and are more so an infrastructure host - power/racks/GPUs
