It seems like OpenAI could just slap ads into its platform at any moment and begin turning a big, beautiful profit. So I’m not wild on the narrative of them not making any profit. Many of the most successful companies ran projects at a loss only to stick it to the consumer once we were hooked. Looking at you Meta, Google, Amazon (so hard to search with so many sponsored links), Netflix and so on.

Well yea thats because they wanted to make a short squeeze on the last big tech name they hadnt AI squeezed yet. The bubble was popping ahead of schedule, they had to get the emergency Buffet fund to pour billions into pumping Goog to start their short squeeze. Notice how literally every single mag 7 has been claimed to be the AI leader in the past year at some point? First they said it was microsoft, then they said it was Amazon, then it was tesla, then it was meta and now we have Google as the leader. Wow, funny how that works!
