Dawg you gotta be the boomer to not to realize most of the world is using Meta products. Every normie in a developed enough country to own a smartphone under the age of 30 has Instagram and is probably addicted to it. Social currency is so valuable and Meta controls the majority of the space with IG. Meta also controls the entire VR gaming market with Quest (prev Oculus) and is reaching into a new consumer/influencer markets with the Meta Ray-Bans. On top of that, there are billions of people abroad using WhatsApp, a bunch of boomers still on legacy Facebook + a mix of Gen Z on Facebook too because FB Marketplace has become more dominant than all other local buy/sell platforms. And this isn't even touching on the millions of huge corporations, brands, ecom bozos, small businesses, influencers, etc who put the bulk of their marketing/ad spend into Meta. They've done extensive work for the FOSS community, AR/VR reality hardware development, I mean the list just goes on. They make so much damn money and have insane profit margins. They've grown from a 100B mcap to almost a 2 TRILLION in less then 7 years. Yes people really use Meta products dumbass.

As for it bleeding lately, look at Amazon, Meta and Apple. If all those stocks were up, or treading water, then I'd be concerned with Google dipping, but the entire sector is dipping. I'm not adding anything right now. I actually just retired in December and I sold enough stock last year that I can survive for about 7 years even if the market tanks like the 1930's. About 35% of my portfolio is cash or cash equivalent and I wouldn't start coming back in and buying stuff unless we drop another 40% from here. If I was a normal person that hadn't retired and I'm just living a normal life, I'd start buying GOOG at any price below $290.

Mag 7 are so ridiculously oversold. MAGS is a surprisingly diversified etf (aside from being all in tech): tesla the shitco meme but i guess a robotics play now, nvidia the chip pure play, goog apple meta all with very strong and resilient balance sheets (i wouldn't call them defensive plays but it's good enough, strong recession proof revenues and low debt), amazon for consumer staples and cloud (could either win big or lose big soon, flat in the meantime.), microsoft for software (rip) though they are well positioned to implement ai in enterprise due to insane moat. Concerning though how quickly it can get punished by a minor sentiment shift. If the ai bubble unravels they might not be as resilient as i think.

Even after being beaten down, earnings growth doesn't imply more than like 20-50% growth at most for the likes of google, meta, microsoft and nvidia. If pe should remain reasonable. So this may really be the final year where they may just barely outperform the market.

Traded whole day w/ pretty much success and in the end opened up 0dte calls for META in the middle of the drop. Added some a couple of times and in the end position lost -100%. Level when I was supposed to exit was 'set', but I ended up doing same shit again. Feeling terrible.
