anyone remember that ORCL stock pump from September that made all the news? It's officially given ALL of that gain back(35%) lol... funny?

I think it is not involved in the self-jerking scheme created by ORCL, NVDA, OpenAI, AMD, etc.

I'm not saying it's nothing, there's definitely some default risk here which the debt holders are hedging for, but if the risk is as severe as you are implying ORCL would be down a lot more by now. But I don't have real time access to the swaps data either, I'm just going by the market reaction.

ORCL swaps thing is old news, that's why the stock almost closed its ER gap. Highly doubt anything actually comes from that

Took the L on ORCL today. Fuck being a long term shareholder. It was fun selling just out of the money covered calls every week until it was not. Holding Dec SPY 688 and Nov 630 QQQ puts and since last Thursday helped ease the pain.

ORCL is now flat from its regarded 35% post earnings pump, gave it all back in less than 2 months.

Almost all of ORCL, QCOM, GOOG, and AAPL's last pops have been eaten up, and MSFT's OpenAI pop got way more than eaten up. All feels kind of sus. Like of all of those just start going back to where they were, the market would move up quite a bit.

Honestly, it's it really a bubble if companies like NVDA, AMZN, ORCL, etc, are reporting record numbers? Fundamentals are solid all around. The only question is whether AI will flop and will not be more than variants of chatgpt.

I have a very genuine question regards. I am actually a horrible trader, always buying high and selling low - a lack of patience and a tendency to try to time the market. However, I never buy a stock that has increased by 5 or 10% in a day, because I think it might fall. Who are the people buying a stock that has gone up more than 10% or 15% in a day, for example, recent ORCL or yesterday's Amazon pump? Are they smarter or dumber than I am?

ORCL and META are borrowing tens of billions to fund these data center buildouts... IF the AI bubble does collapse, those 2 will be the ones that take it the hardest (other than Open AI of course). MSFT, AMZN, and GOOGL are funding most of this through their cloud cashflows; that's the huge difference. Those 3 will be relatively insulated because they can always just pull back on the spending though you'd expect stock corrections in any AI bust scenario (i.e. some multiple contraction). But ORCL and META are literally betting their companies on AI without the requisite business model for it, and that's where they have a lot more exposure. The downside is far greater for those two if this doesn't work out...
