My experience: for the educational experience it was 100% worth it. But did it lead to a prosperous career path for me? Not really, but if I had followed on with grad school it would have opened other paths. It did help me land a great job right out of undergrad, but I didn't stay in the industry for personal reasons. Also that was 2006 so I think the job market for new-grads was arguably much brighter back then.

The most bearish thing Jensen has ever said is "inference is hard". I dont think people realize how much the hype has been LLMs turn into at least a promising path for AGI if not it outright.
