There was two scenarios to play out today and I knew this last friday and made calls for it over the weekend. Pay attention to the next friday options Open interest. 6700 was a massive strike for both puts and calls. When you have these set ups two scenarios play out. Scenario 1: You pin near the open interest strike Scenarios 2: you fall below/push above the strike and get a gamma squeeze as MM hedge their position  Spx 50pt wide butterfly paid today.
