I feel like so many people commenting think that "boots on the ground" will solve the issue with the strait. You don't need to be on the Iranian coast to lob a drone or missile to blow a hole in a tanker passing through the strait. What's even worse is Iran has hypersonic missiles, and there is no defense for those. Meanwhile we just sent a 3rd aircraft carrier group over there that can't defend against those missiles being shot at them.
