Short answer is that the minimum wage has remained stagnant since the 1960’s or 70’s while CEO pay has skyrocketed. I mean it’s no secret that the minimum wage isn’t a living wage in this country. So about half of SNAP recipients also work a job and also fall under the poverty line. Then there are survivor benefits, and then people that can’t get employment easily such as the old, the handicapped, etc.

Not sure but I think a LOT ( not ALL by any means) of people have cash to pay for food if they have to....just have to resched. nails, lashes, extensions, tats, piercings, and ordering food IN a few weeks....none of those places take SNAP yet they do a land business.....

Thoughts on puts on US Grocery stores like kroger, seems like a solid play with people losing their snap benefits on the 1st amid the government shutdown. Snap and food stanps is a big driver of sales at the beginning of the month. Possibility it impacts thanksgiving and Christmas sales as well.🤔
