Hear me out: As you might know by now Kharg is the fucking heart of the Iranian economy. The oil terminal handles about 90 % of Iran’s oil exports. If it is fucked, the Iranian economy collapses. This is the reason why USA/Israel can’t bomb it or anything, cos if they do - Iran will really target oil infrastructure in the region, energy prices will sky rocket, and Iran is left in shambles and any potential new government will be weak AF. Bombing Kharg is therefore a red line. But what about option B: take control over Kharg with boots on the ground? Iran can’t target it without destroying itself, and it can be used for leverage. My guess is that this is the only way to negotiate for peace in a way that makes america/israel the winners. It will however require a daring mission to pull it off.
