$ORCL Earnings: Actually Bad

Link to Press Release: [Q3 Earnings](https://s23.q4cdn.com/440135859/files/doc_earnings/2026/q2/earnings-result/2q26-pressrelease-final.pdf) # The Good: Net Income of $6.135 billion, up 38% YoY Remaining Performance Obligations up to $523 billion, crazy if actually realized Clear Path for Revenue Growth # The Bad: $2.668 billion of net income was related to sale of Amphere and the declaration that Oracle will not produce chips and just buy "what customers want" EPS would have been \~$1.33 without the gain on sale of Amphere ste Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO) growth outpaced revenue growth and is highly sensitive to cancelation risk # The Ugly: Free Cash Flow is Tanking \[ $11.27b, $9.54B, $5.81, ($0.394), ($5.88), ($13,181), \] With no sign of reversing Current Liabilities > Current Assets ($37.795b vs $34.366b), when FCF is tanking Their actual Software Business shrank compared to last year (software license revenue down 21%) # The Takeaway: This was not a strong report and $ORCL is heavily exposed if one believes in "AI Bubble" theories No position, Would buy at 20x forward earnings, so \~$150 per share. I only do this for a stock I want to hold long term. It is a little margin of safety and if NFLX goes above the call price, I am able to let it go at 49% return in 13 months. As for locking myself, I can always sell the stock and call option for a net profit if the stock moves up (although covered call will lower the profit a bit, in return for margin of safety until drop to $88.5)

On the Monday before the last FOMC, options flow showed $200M+ in aggressive net call buying on Mag 7 with $SPY IV Rank near ~10%, almost identical to today’s level. The cut hit, $SPY topped almost immediately, and the market sold off for nearly a month as IV expanded post-FOMC. The Fed’s tone then framed cuts as strictly data-dependent, not the start of a full easing cycle. This time, flow on Mag 7 is flipped, with net call selling and increased put buying,

In 2025, I estimate Reality Labs @ Meta will generate ~$2.2bn in revenue, $21bn in expenses, and a net loss of ~$18.5bn. A 30% expense reduction could drive up to $6-6.5bn in savings, equivalent to roughly $2 of EPS uplift that could get Meta's EPS to ~$32/share. For the rest of the business, I estimate 2025 total expenses of ~$97bn. A 10% reduction could represent an additional ~$10bn in savings, but I would assume that these cost discussions are part of usual planning exercises and will be reallocated for data center and AI spend. $32/share x a conservative 25x market multiple = Meta at $800/share
