The dam broke. NVO was a blindside that broke their vix cucking strategy. I saw it in real time today, when that NVO order came in it was an instant circuit breaker before the sell hit the tape. They frantically called everyone trying to make backroom deals and prevent this from hitting the tape. They then tried to get a VIX strangle and suppressed put prices so they could stack as many puts as possible. No backroom deal was allowed, the sell had to be let through and all hell broke loose. They were on the backfoot the rest of the day, they usually just pause sell orders and route them through dark pools so that its not on the official tape and removing sell pressure lets them manipulate it back up. Couldnt do that today. The NVO dump caused the Iran war scare they had in the back pocket to be played, and distracted from the fact that it was actually a mechanical break of their market propping strategy. With a "cause" for the drop now in play, they rallied together all of congress to pass a "cure" that is a resolution to the budget bill. So now instead of the dam breaking on their market propping bs, the narrative is now that the Iran war scare spooked the market and the congress passing the budget saved it and all is well and everything is resolved. The fact of the matter is that we are still at the very tippy top of a market that has been manipulated up probably $50 past where it should be, and they are running out of ways to keep it there.
