You can also use VXN/VIX as a ratio to track on a charting software for distortions in the vol surface. I mostly just track it on a one hour chart but if you calculate historical averages and etc, you can easily spot opportunities of dislocation in volatility with the market. Mostly just seeing that there’s a difference in volatility on the spy and QQQ.
